More from FC&A Publishing

Want the equivalent to Heloise -- helpful household hints -- in a more expensive book form? Well, for "only" four "easy" payments of $6.99 each, plus shipping and handling, you get the book "Fix it, Clean It and Make it Last".

This is the same group that sent a medical information "newsletter" last week:

Gayle K. Wood
FC&A Publishing
103 Clover Green
Peachtree City, GA 30269

Gosh -- they are experts in medicine and cleaning.

They don't seem to give up.  Dad has not bought anything from this "publisher" for over two years now, and they still send weekly newsletters with exciting offers.  Gotta give them credit for persistence.

  1. I too received a book from FC&A Publishing in October 2011 that I did not ask for. I returned it unopened as rejected. I started to receive bills in the mail stating I owed them $26.96 for a book named "Easy Does It". I kept sending them a reply stating I returned the book and refused to make a payment of any kind. The last invoice I received stated in a form letter that they know I am a concerned person and that I finish the projects I begin, that I should finish the good thing I have begun and finally "Won't you honor your commitment by paying the modest bill enclosed?" This infuriated me. I called 1(800) 226-8024 number and explained in a very to the point way I did not as for the book, it was rejected and returned un-opened to them and I refuse to pay for something I did not ask for. The woman named Donna said she was removing the bill, taking me off the mailing list as we spoke. It took no time at all but I had to call. Apparently they have no one who can read when you mail them a letter stating the same thing. We will see if THEY honor their commitment and stop sending me, another elderly person, unasked for garbage mail!

  3. I just received a bill for $39.95 from FC&A for a book titled 'It Pays To Be A Senior.' Due to our current financial situation, it is very highly unlikely that we would be ordering books. I have purchased from FC&A in the past, when we lived in Arizona (over three years ago.) I did not order this book, which I would pay for if I had it and we could afford it, but I don't and we can't. I do not owe this bill and will refuse to pay it.

  5. My father is receiving the same thing and he is ready to subscribe to this newsletter. Don't fall prey to any of this. He thinks, "why would they pay money to send all these pages of information if it is just a hoax?" I tried explaining that it is just another ploy to get money from him. I am going to print all these comments and I hope he listens.

My advice would be NOT to subscribe to anything like this. Even if it says, "100% Money Back Guarantee!!!!" NOT TRUE!! Do your homework and research, Google it, you will find answers.

  6. FC&A is attempting to extract money from my Father who passed away 7 years ago. These people should "Burn in Hell" for their aggressive and disgusting acts against the dead. Also, by the way, the book was not received either. I am complaining to the BBB when I finish this post.

  7. I have had similar experiences with this company. They are a rip-off outfit.

  8. I also fell on the trap! I sent them a check for $9.99 + 3.00 (SAH) on 11/9/2012 and I haven't received the book.
The book is "Anti-Aging Super Foods for Seniorss".
Every time I call them they leave waiting on the phone for somebody that never appears.
What a shame that they are stealing money from elderly people!

  9. Oh, it's worse than that. I just received an "overdue bill" sent to my mom. She's been DEAD for almost 5 years.

  10. My understanding is that you can keep anything sent to you in the mail unsolicited, I'm fixing to return a book from them that I did order, as it's not worth the $30 plus, they send some flyer that has biblical quotes all over it, I don't mind but please don't be hiding behind religion if you're this disingenuous

  11. Received this book for my mother, a second letter arrived for payment, saying this was sent under the plan ordered from a previous book you paid for. The only problem is not alive and has been living at the cemetery for about 10 years. After reading the wording on these invoices, I am not happy how that try to scam the elderly.

  13. I have received two books, one of which I ordered with their promise that it could be returned. I looked at both books which I did not want or need and returned them promptly. They keep pestering me to make payments. Of course, I shall not pay them anything, since the invoice clearly states that you can "try it without obligation".

  14. At my home in FL I received a bill regarding my mother-in-law, (who lived in another state), from these people at F C & A Publishing,...stating that she recently ordered a book from them, but has not paid for it. Thing is...she passed away nearly four years ago. Called their 800 number. They went into how she had recently ordered a book but has yet to pay for it. Then I informed them that it would be unlikely because she has been deceased since 2010...then, they apologized, corrected their records and said there must have been a computer glitch. Glitch?..maybe / maybe not. But it always gives me pause when I hear about companies supposedly conducting business with elderly people that have been deceased for nearly four years....makes you wonder.

  15. Identical ad for "What You Should Never Put in Your Will!" (part of "Retiring Well on a Poor Man's Budget") is still running in November 2013 issue of the AARP Bulletin, but now the free gift offer expires 12/20/13.

  16. I have ordered so many books from this company, they always put on the newletter what all this lifesaving advice that they know you want to hear and believe, I finally woke up, these scammers sure know how to program vulernable people, reminds me of PCH about you are a winner if???? and that is if you keep ordering their cheap made products they are the winner. Everything is a scam but as long as people like myself falls for this garbage there will always be a market for scammers and cons.

  17. So glad I checked this place out on the internet first. This outfit took out a full page ad in our local newspaper on JANUARY 7, 2014 and I fill out information to order and thought I would check it out first because I'm elderly. To my surprise I read reviews and threw order form and full page add in the trash. WOW!!!! WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO. BUYER "BEWARE"???

  18. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually ends up false. this Company is just another scam artist selling junk as a quality product. Beware.

  19. My mother died in 2006 and I just received a $22.96 bill today marked "PAST DUE" for a product that she supposedly ordered last year. You have to admire their persistence...

  23. Beware! This company sent a book to my mom that she did not order. The cost of the book was almost $40.00. My mom has been in the hosipital and rehab and hasn't even been around to order anything. The scary part is that if she were home she may have paid the bill. These people need to STOP taking advantage of the eldery!!!!!!!

  24. I'm surprised that AARP magazine has a full page ad for their publication "What Every Senior Should Know". Isn't AARP supposed to tell us that stuff??

  25. I'm turning these people to consumers affairs for my state and sugesst everyone else do the same. This is an obviouse rip off and needs reported State by State

  26. My 95 year old mothe-in-law keeps sending checks to these people. I think they are taking advantage of her but she is too embarrassed to tell anyone.

  27. My aged mother with memory loss has been a target of this company's deceitful practices. She continues to receive bills for books she has not ordered even though I have written them, emailed them and called them requesting that they take her off their contact list. I am with my mother nearly every day when she opens her mail and I am furious to see these "bills" arrive in her mailbox two or three times a week. In my opinion, they are praying on the elderly or feeble minded. If they do not honor the latest request to cease all correspondence to my mother, I will be contacting the BBB or an attorney, whoever can resolve the issue the quickest. Beware of FC&A!

  28. My 94-year-old father received "The Kitchen Table Book" from them, which he did not order. For "only" $37.96 he can have a bunch of "advice" which anyone can find for free on the Internet. I called to return the book and I have to say the customer service guy seemed accommodating. Said they will send out a pre-paid return label and take my dad off their mailing list. We'll see.
